Now, they are releasing an itty Bit Slab Slay'r

They also have a new head,

I just won a 20-count pack of Itty Bit Slab Slay'Rs in Electric Chicken color, along with a pack of our new Overbite Sickle Mo’ Glo jigheads (10-count) in 1/48 oz. size and Ghost color in a Facebook giveaway/contest. I have to use them halloween weekend for some kind of big slab deal.

I been catching bream and sac's in the back yard of the pier and thinking about getting into it. Do you fish these under a cork? Tightlined? Spinner?

Thanks

I met a guy out on the water few weeks ago and he gave me a tiny feather jig he ties for himself...the thing is no larger than a large ant...I have been wearing the sac a lait out at Henderson with that thing...I have to either find some like it or start tying my own...

Honestly, all three would work. Where I'm fishing, I tightline until right at sunset, then switch to spinner or cork as it gets darker, because the fish move up farther off the bottom.

Got any general tips for fishing super clear water for slabs? I seem to remember you fishing Indian Creek which from my memory gets pretty clear.

I just moved to OKC in July and it appears sac-au-lait is going to occupy more of my time here than it ever did in SELA or NWLA where I've lived before.

I've only ever caught slabs before on tube jigs under a cork, with shiners, or occasionally after I stumbled onto them while bass fishing. I feel kind of lost fishing clear reservoirs for them with artificials, but think it's something I need to learn.

1/48. Super sharp sickle hook. Cannot wait to use these on Toledo next spring.

Small baits like what I have been posting. Colors like Blue Ice and Monkey Milk most of the time. Cajun Cricket in low light. I like to use tiny braid or mono to a very small swivel, then 6lb fluoro to the head. Have had good luck on both Indian Creek and Toledo in really clear water.

Got a recommendation on a good jig pole for around $50ish? I've always used ultra lights so I have no clue what I'm doing looking at jig poles. They all look long and floppy to me...

I'm thinking a 10' pole is where I should start

I bought my first one last year. I fish ultralight spinning almost exclusively. I don't remember what I got, but it was from Academy. I think it's a B n M with fly rod type handle. 10'. After using it around trees this Spring, i kinda wish I had gone 11 or 12. I really only used it on about 3 trips and do not really think it was superior to me just flipping with my spinning tackle. Will give it another go this spring but those bastages are some kind of awkward in a yack. I may get a longer one for when I use a boat.
