If anyone thought it was a possibility, EG will not opt out. He will get more money signing under the new cap, so expiring is perfect timing.

His efficiency on shots within 10 feet is severely limited by the referees. Basically, he's punished for not flopping.
His explanation is that they do not spread the floor and the defense hangs a little more inside due to Davis. As a result, refs find it harder to see fouls on drives that actually penetrate.

I guess that's a nice way to put it.

It is not that I am anti Gordon, however, his whole tenure here with the Pels has been injury riddled.
Knowing this, do you really think some team is going to pay him 10 million plus per year?
I mean, sure, if he plays like he has recently. But that is a very short window of consistent, injury free, playing time.
It is a big chance any team takes signing him with his injury history. Is there any other player to compare with Eric Gordon's upcoming situation?
Considering the fact that SG talent is very shallow, he's a two way player, showing he's a great shooter, pretty good with the ball in his hands with running an offense in a half-court setting, and *knock on wood* got his knees treated properly....I'd say yes, some team is willing to.

No GM is paying EG 10 mil. Not happening, IMO.

The cap increase changes everything. Prices are probably going up around 50%. $10M is the new $6.5M.
