Look at these events in order from the end of the second half and explain to me how its Horsnbys game that could have sealed it. Your the only one thats had this logic, the only one
Hmmmm, so you list 22 shot attempts (including FTs), and I see only 2 attempts from a guy that has been established as a primary weapon, and one of the most consistent scorers towards the end of the season. Both are missed 3's, not very likely to draw fouls.
This, during a stretch where you at least anticipate NC State having to foul, and TQ and Mickey are struggling to make FTs.

Are YOU suggesting the rest of the team refused to pass the ball to Hornsby? If so, that's totally out of character compared to the last couple weeks.

Otherwise, that list shows me exactly what I said- Hornsby vanished.

Yeah, that transcript sucks. Pissed each one of us off last night.

My point is this- Hornsby had been off his game, but he's a good FT shooter (hell, he shot 92% at UNCA). Late in the game, the team was floundering. Mickey was scared of the ball... he "knew" he would miss; but he still got into position and got the shots. Quarterman was tired, but I think he was also trying to score Hornsby's pts too towards the end.

The last few minutes, especially the final minute, should have been a slow offense focused on TQ, Hornsby and Patterson killing clock, and forcing fouls. Not looking for jumpers, not passing into Mickey, but basically demanding that NC St's guards come out and foul them. And Hornsby should have been a primary player in that.

They need to stay over 2 hours after practice next year (like Hornsby do)

kind of goes along what I was saying about them not working hard enough for an entire game.

There are only two ways a team with the level of talent as we currently have, can lose:

1. Other team shoots a ridiculous percentage
2. Lack of effort

sadly with this team number 2 was basically the cause of all our losses. The times we gave up high shooting percentages we just didn't want to play d (vol game at home)

he's very good at getting to the bucket and getting enough space off the dribble to pull up near the elbow or FT line, we don't need to just keep him roaming on the perimeter

Gray provided a great spark and set the tempo in spurts.

There's one player missing.

I saw Hornsby diving for balls and putting in effort, and he made big shots as well to give us such a big lead. As soon as gray was in, the lead kept dwindling.

I'd like to know why all that practice from him made him drop from a 94% foul shooter to 76%.
