Witcher 2 didn't have the violence but it did have whore houses that showed more nudity than that.

I'm so glad my parents didn't have threads like this when I wanted to get GTA 3 and GTA IV

The thing about GTAV is it's not the violence and sex per se. The theme and tone of the whole story is just so crass and cynical and trashy. It kind of disturbed me and I'm 28 years old. And I get nothing like that from Far Cry 4 or Mortal Kombat which are just as violent.

I'm assuming you're talking about the idiot comment. Trust me, teenagers make me doubt myself plenty.

I don't really understand why he wants something so dark. Maybe it's the whole forbidden thing.

I think it just kind of poisons the mind, so no, I wouldn't give it to a 15 year old.

Enjoy them when they're little and think you are the smartest, coolest person on the planet.

It has probably the most detailed virtual city ever created where you're allowed to do a plethora activities, most of which you could never do in real life without being killed, or going to prison.

It's escapism entertainment and probably the reason most people want to play it, including your son (that, and some of his friends are probably playing it). Having said that, it's definitely an adult game which made me uncomfortable at times and I wouldn't let my teenager play it unless I was supervising.

He probably just wants to drive around and shoot and go on bank heists. Which is fun and harmless I think. Thats the fantasy aspect. The problem is the story is very realistic and very dark. In the other thread someone said they let their kid play supervised and they don't let them go into mission mode. (So they just drive around and stuff) I doubt you'd be down for that. But playing through the story is kind of like watching a weird NC-17 indie film.

I'd say with your gut on this one. You know the right thing to do already

And if your let you kid do things "because his friends are doing it" then good luck my friend lol

This along with the fantasy aspect, nudity, and the ability to do illegal things without repercussion pretty well explain his draw to it. I keep telling him he needs to use his powers for good thank you for your input.

I think 15 is old enough as well, kids are smoking weed and having sex by then.

Don't say that too loud, this board outside of the Poli board is probably held in the least regard, until someone has a computer question.
