"He's exactly what we're looking for," said Payton with a wide grin, several months before the Graham trade. "Each week you know exactly what you're gonna get. He's talented, he can run, he's young. He's consistent. Those are things that allow you to win."

Roto tidbit

This kid is why I loved getting Unger in the Jimmy trade. Hill looked great when he played last year. Give Brees time to throw, he'll still carve teams up.

eta. I guess its an old quote. But its still fitting given the situation.

Watson averaged 40 catches a year before coming here (as a backup TE with the Pats and a starter for the shitty Browns). He's a very legit pass catcher. Between him and Hill we will be more than fine at TE.

Let's hope CSP is more right about Hill than he was about Erik Lorig.

he got 5 TDs and he barely saw the field. Didn't even notice until I looked him up.

He made some really nice catches last year that surprised me.

I think he has a great season coming up

Coaches speak. Big downgrade.

However, I feel like the NO Saints overall offense is improved and better prepared for a deep run into the playoffs if they were to make them. They're better prepared for ground and pound, and CJ Spiller could put up great numbers if he can stay healthy.

Adding to the offensive line even more through the NFL Draft would be key here.

Jimmy Graham was great, no doubt. However in 2006 & 2009, our franchises 2 most successful seasons, we had damn good running games and we did not have a star tight end. We had guys like Eric Johnson & Billy Miller, and then a good but past his prime Jeremy Shockey & Dave Thomas. While Hill is still unproven for a 16 game season, does anybody think that the years we had Shockey at that point in his career he was better than what Hill looks to be?..I don't. To be a successful offense we need to start at O-line, which we are doing, and get that interior built back up for Drew to climb the pocket as well as boost our run game some more and then get us another deep threat at WR. Just like the 06' & 09' seasons when we had Devery & Meachem running deep routes with Colston/Moore/Shockey underneath, and also those years Reggie and PT from the RB positions were posting tons of catches also, which is why I am very excited to get Spiller. If we can get another guard or have Evans return to form, and a deep threat WR then I think this offense could be ready for another deep playoff push. Colston & Cooks are good, but they will need help from the WR position. Hopefully Toon/Coleman/Jones can step up, and just maybe this may be the year Andy Tanner makes the team and becomes another reliable underneath guy and fill the role that Lance Moore used to have.
