More about leaving the Pacific Northwest and his wife is pregnant.
But he was bummed too.

The news was disappointing to Unger, who had spent his entire adult life in the Pacific Northwest -- college at Oregon and then six years with the Seahawks. If the news was tough for him, it was even tougher for his wife Leah, an Oregon native who is seven months pregnant.
"Wives in the NFL, we put them through quite a bit, and then getting a cross-country move thrown into the equation and being seven months pregnant... it can be a bummer," Unger said. "But my wife is the best and she's dealing with it pretty well."
But he was bummed too.

"That's above my pay grade," Unger said of the trade dynamics. "The business side of football is something you can't concern yourself with. The organization thinks this is the right move for them."
Unger said his disappointment upon leaving Seattle was lessened by the prospect of a new adventure in a new place.
"I've had so much invested in what's happened up here for so long, to get a call like this out of left field, I was bummed," he said. "At the same time it's another opportunity to go somewhere I've never lived before and play for a team that's had a lot of success and I've heard a lot of good things about."

I mean, it's understandable. He doesn't know anything else.

I don't think it's an issue either. But I think it's interesting. Most of the time we get the cliches but he was honest. Actually refreshing.

Unger grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii and still spends his offseasons there. He's never been to New Orleans, let alone New Orleans in July and August.
"I'll stay in Hawaii (during the offseason) and then make the commute out to Louisiana," he said.

Poor guy. He and his wife are in for a culture shock

Well--half of that "July and August" will be at a country club in West Virgina, right?
Posted on 3/14/15 at 11:27 am to ipodking
Nice to hear he won't be moving here sooner to get acclimated to the city and community before football starts.
Posted on 3/14/15 at 11:28 am to lsutigers1992
Nah, Loomis traded the country club for a second round pick in 2016

Speaking out? What can Payton get for him in a trade?

Who cares if he likes NOLA.
As long as he protects Brees and helps us bring a Lombardi I give zero fricks

Once he feels the hand of Breesus on his ball sack, he'll change his mind
