I've read a lot of the posts and not much info on how good he is. I know he was injured all of last year essentially. So how does the board feel about it?

He was very good as a younger player in Ravens system. Also very good his first year with phins. Got a massive contract. Having lived down here for awhile I'd say Ireland is much better at evaluating defensive talent especially front 7 than he is the offensive side.

When we traded for Vilma in 08 he had only played in 6 games the year before and was thought to be broken down. He played all 16 games the next 3 years I believe for us

Just sayin

Was a throw in I think.
Had a great year in B'more a so so year in Miami then is out for a year.
Seems he's not 100% healthy yet so what can you make of him?
Could perhaps have a chance on this LB'er to be a starter.
Don't think he was the target in all this.

Ireland signed him to a $35 million dollar contract in Miami in 2013 and cut Karlos Dansby. There's your answer

He's a really solid linebacker who struggled playing in a 4-3 system in Miami. He won a super bowl with Baltimore and started on the inside next to Ray Lewis that season. He's much more suited for this scheme. I think he'll wind up being a really nice player for us.

Love him. When he was in on defense you could find him easily. Some you didn't know were in the game or in the stadium.

Two big buts. Salary and injury.

Like Hightower he may try to get as much as he can anywhere or he may want to stay at a lower cost.
My best case scenario would be that he wants to stay, gets healthy and plays on a one year prove it contract.

He's a strong restructure candidate. Won't keep his rate that he had last season, but doesnt have a lot of leverage
