What? He recruited Shaq, Stanley, Mo,etc..after 1989, regardless of players leaving early, or limited runs with a young team.

The Geert, Gipson, Owens, 1994 team continuing the NCAA tourney streak after Shaq's departure, was an excellent season, and adjusting on the fly.

It was '93 but I agree with your point. Dale had a 15 year post-season run at LSU that may never be matched. He has more victories over Kentucky than any coach in History and from '78-'93 averaged nearly a victory per season over UK which no other school has ever come close to doing. Like all men, Dale had his faults but no way do they over-shadow what he did with and for the program and university.
