IMO this is a terrible ruling and opens the door to a shite load of frivolous lawsuits.

At the end of "I'm happy" it sounds like pharell ripped off the Cupid shuffle too

Fair use isn't an issue in any of these cases because all of the songs are for commercial purposes. Once they're sold, no more fair use.

I think artists are pretty reticent in general about this. A lot of songs have significant elements that are copied from others or seem to be

Red hot chili peppers lost one to Tom Petty years ago and there weren't a "ton of frivolous suits".

Or will they go after Weird Al for "Word Crimes " which copied "Blurred Lines" which copied Gaye's song.
