That is one Happy dude.

"Happy" is probably the biggest song you would have heard of.

The first time I saw him was when he was wearing that silly costume or whatever on the Grammys a few weeks ago, then I saw him on The Voice again right after. It was twice in like a 2 week span so thought he was someone new on the scene until yesterday when I was watching inside edition and saw this story.

I will stay this, the Gaye family had a heck of a stronger claim than Tom Petty did.
Still, if anything, Thick maybe stole the idea not the actual music itself.

So both songs have the same baseline, but the lyrics aren't anywhere near similar. Seems like the ruling is a joke.

One good thing... Marvin Gaye Sr. wont be getting anything...

It would not shock me for one of them to think they've created a beat when in fact, its just a beat from a song they heard coming from the nether regions of their brain.
Yup. It's happened to me when writing music on guitar

Why do people keep calling this a ruling? It's a jury verdict.

I listened to "Blurred Lines" for the very first time last night after reading of this verdict. The thing that I want to know is how in the hell does their record company not know better? That is just blatant incompetence on their part. They should have just gotten permission. Puff Daddy made an entire career off of stealing other people's music, but he at least asked nicely before stealing it.

While we're talking about stealing music, Kelly Clarkson stole her latest single from Jimmy Eat World. LINK
I listened to both, I don't see it at all.

The Gaye family needs to go after Ed Sheeran next for that blatant ripoff of "Let's get it on" that's been poisoning my radio nonstop for the past few months.
