it has been rumored that they are not allowed to commit unless they come to camp, the offer is solely to get them to come to camp
I don't know if that is true or not

it's that I'm an LSU guy who wants Les to do what he preaches and take our instate guys over ios guys he's never seen play
and what if Les has seen the instate guy and doesn't think he is LSU material?

there is equally impressive in state talent.
Equal to who? You? Because each kid has the same number of stars next to his name? By websites that are in the business to make money, not scout for college coaches?
Do you need it spelled out to you?

So you think we recruit and offer a guy from oos that hasn't camped if he wouldn't be a highly rated prospect?
Ok big guy, I'll let you have the floor. How many qbs from oos that haven't camped that were not rated has LSU offered in the last 10 years?
Or
Is what you're saying that Kelly doesn't deserve 4 * rating?
My pint is, I would think they are closely talented. And since the stag has signed the higher rated guy, why not offer the scholly to an instate guy.
I want the more talented players at LSU and I def understand your thoughts.
But I don't want to hear a childish coach tell kids to go to hell for leaving the state at the same time treating in state kids like they don't deserve respect over oos players of equal talent.

"equal" talent
do the coaches think they are equal talent?

You are, wrongly, assuming that the oos and Louisiana kids have equal talent. It's simply that the coaches think that the oos guys are more talented or fit our schemes better. Not sure why this is so hard for you to understand.

You tell me, he doesn't have a committable offer? Or does he? If not, the THEY don't think he's more talented themselves.
Have they extended the same come-to-camp offer to in state guys?

Franks is better than both Patterson and Kelley. It's not even close.

Kelley isn't close to Franks or Patterson. He's got a decent arm and is mobile but doesn't have a very quick release. He'll make someone a decent QB but I don't think he would ever play at LSU.

Typical lafayette attitude thinking he's the best. I would understand an offer to him. But with discipline issues and a cement lower body I'm not sure his arm can override those issues.

My thinking all along is that they want to get all these guys to camp to see which one they prefer best. Offering Kelley now without seeing him in a setting against other top guys doesn't give you anything. Seeing what he can do in competition to Peters, Guarantano, Haskins, etc will give Cam a much better look at the situation. It also let's you see how these guys operate in person. He can get a more complete answer this way.
So I like what they have done. Get all these guys here to the big event and see which one you like best, then pour everything into getting him to commit.

Haskins is the highest remaining on the board. Kelley can make a push at camp. It happens every year that a guy crushes the camp and gets an offer. I don't see Kelley as a top 10 qb nationally, but he's a solid prospect.

Exactly.... I'm just thrilled we have all these guys looking at LSU with Brandon Harris, Franks, and a Haskins, Kelly, Guarantano behind these guys, LSU is set up for some great football for years. Love the problem. This and the fact that we haven't had the best results lately shows you the recruiter Cam is and his name carries a lot of weight. Just think once one of these guys start producing and we have a QB theowing for 30 TDs a year??? With the backfield we have, my goodness?!?!

Clearly you have not watched any tape on either of the quarterbacks you are talking about. Franks is a good quarterback no doubt however he has a long windup style release while kelly is quick release and has above average arm strength. Also, i will say it again why does everyone feel the need that we have a mobil quarterback? The best offense we had was with Mett (no mobility like Cole) but please lets continue this trend of a mediocre "mobile" qb
