I haven't read all the posts in this thread, but I browsed through a few pages. I would be willing to bet that the yeses can be categorized generally as young and that those who said 'no, they wouldn't risk it,' can be categorized as older. I'm not sure what the over/under cut off is. Maybe it's 35, maybe it's 40--but I'd be willing to bet it's less than 50.

Am I right posters above?

Well if you were basing it on the expected value of the wins - expected value of losses, the we would expect a negative relationship between age and willingness to participate. I would argue that, mathematically, unless it is nearly impossible to make a half court shot, that the vast majority of the time, the value of expected pay-out would exceed the losses.
