TABLE on Perkins - UPDATE IN OP

I remember a thread about this place when Portico shut down but then I haven't heard anything at all. I just passed by and they are busy painting and doing renovations. Anyone have any inside scoop?
I live near there and would really like a decent place to go into that spot. Portico was such a fail.
UPDATE - Since the original thread indicated that I may have the most current info based solely on driving by daily on way to work - here is the latest as of today. On the day of the original post all the doors were open and they were hard at work painting and doing renovations. Since then, I haven't seen a person there or any other work being done. ABC Permit Notice is still hanging on door. That's it. Will update anything happens.

Whatcha mean?
BR Bus Report and Advocate and Nola.com published articles, so I assume if you're seeing renovations, you have the best scoop

I was hoping one of the contractor/builder types here might be working on the job and/or someone knows the owners. Just curious as to realistic opening dates and potential menu, etc.
Some dudes painting the porch isn't too indicative of a timeline if you know what I mean. They did have the ABC Permit Notice posted though.
Just excited/anxious that they don't blow it like Portico. How the hell the Management allowed the service to get so bad just stunned me. Every time I went in the Hostess podium had three or four Sonic cups sitting on it while the staff congregated there and chatted. This while I am staring at them from the bar eight feet away waiting on someone to take my order. It was almost comical.

For their sake, I hope they change the bar setup. Having your bar drink station right next to the front door was terrible.

Last I heard, they were set to open this month. If I hear anything I'll update this thread.
I don't want to post too much about the concept and speak out of turn. someone else may want to.

Any updates?
They have a website up now. No menu yet.
An early article did say they could be open as early as March. It's March.
From their website:
"Table Kitchen and Bar is opening in Southdown’s Village Shopping Center in the space formerly occupied by Portico. Table Kitchen and Bar will feature a daily fresh scratch made farm to table culinary approach with a focus on traditional offerings such as chicken, pork, fish and steak and featured selections of game and Charcuterie . Table will also offer an eclectic wine list, craft brews, and hand-crafted cocktails inside of an upscale yet uniquely fun ambiance."

Who's behind this?
"Scott Wilson, who will own the restaurant with his
wife, Michelle."
"Wilson said he’s been working on the plans for Table Kitchen and Bar for more than a year. He’s assembled a consulting group to help him plan the restaurant. Together, the team has 30 to 40 years of restaurant experience."

True dat but, as I get older, the idea of a place like Table there near my casa appeals to me. Glad that the development is on my timeline. LoL.
