LeBron is career 60 percent shooter at FT line in 'clutch' situations

Watching FS1 and just showed a graphic how LeBron entered today 12-of-18 from the FT line in potential game-tying or go-ahead situations. Missed 2 at the end to put him at 12-of-20, or 60 percent
The FTs include attempts with 10 seconds left in regulation or OT
I understand he gets a lot of unwarranted hate, but stats don't lie bretheren

That's not a good definition of clutch.

60 percent freaking sucks for a wing

I realize you run one of the most successful PR firms in the South, but I don't think you can spin this one

So if he is up by 1 point and makes free throws, it is not clutch?
Or up 2 points and makes it a 2 possession game with 2 free throws? Not clutch?

20 out of 7599 isn't exactly a big sample size

That's like saying Buffalo's run in the 1990s of losing 4 straight Super Bowls was a small sample size
If you don't win/convert when it counts, there's really no way to sugarcoat it...

You are saying he has only had 20 game-tying or go-ahead free throws in his career? REALLY?
ETA: and 10 percent of them came tonight? Think about that for a minute.........

That's what my sources at FS1 tell me

In his CAREER? Just think about that.....

Not really that hard to think about
He missed most of his shots in the final 10 seconds, so it's not like he spends a ton of time at the FT line in late-game situations

I think their stats are wrong bruh

quote:I don't know how true it is, but if you think about it, only shooting 20 free throws is not that surprising when you limit to last 10 seconds of a game, when officials shallow their stuff whistles and they must be either tied or losing by one. So if they are down by 2 or more or up by 1 or more, then a free throw isn't within the criteria of this statistic.
In his CAREER? Just think about that.....

It is just a rare and specific situation.
Plus it doesn't help that LeBron has shied away from attacking the rim at times at the end of games to either take a jumper or kick it to open man. Usually when he drives at the end of games it seems to be to set someone up for an open jumper.

This thread is a perfect microcosm of how sad the world has become for Lebron haters.
"Yeah he has own rings and can do everything on a basketball court at a ridiculous efficiency level, but look at those 20 career free throw attempts!"

at a ridiculous efficiency level,
