As someone who has grown up around doctors, I can tell you that most are the greatest actors ever. The "bedside manner" people love is just an act.
What you see in the office is not who they really are. Most great doctors have the ability to turn on and off their emotions.
They are sociopaths usually. Not "dexter" type, but they have the ability to not get emotionally involved in things.
Could easily see a kitten like patients describe him turn into a tiger behind closed doors.
