Right, but if they knew they were going to charge her with something, could they not arrest her, charge he with manslaughter, and then up the charges after a full investigation if they saw it fit?
Also, if they thought self defense was only a remote possibility, I would think that they would charge her and then drop the charges pending a full investigation.
