It's a typical architect design. It is aesthetically pleasing but is not practical. If an engineer would have designed it the braces would have been on the other side which is the correct way to do it. I wonder if this was an oversight in the set design or if there is an actual reason (ie keeping people in not out). I'm thinking it is just a blunder in the set design. Look at the way Carl's old lady scaled the fence without any issue. I highly doubt that wall alone would keep the living out or in.

Didn't Deanna say that they hadn't let anyone in for a long time, but then the young guys said that the young girl had only been there a few weeks. I wonder if the young girl is a spy for the wolves and she is sneaking out giving them intel and supplies.

Not only are the braces on the wrong side, but they have a huge perimeter with no one guarding it. As you stated, the young girl and Carl easily scaled the wall to get out, and she must be returning the same way. Another group could easily get in and do major damage before they even realized they were under attack.

I would think constable Rick would try to put some new security measures in place.

Perhaps Darryl will give us a "you need me on that wall."

The first thing they need to do is re-brace the wall from the inside. The second thing they need to do is cut down the size of the complex because there's no way they can guard a wall that big.

They built this set in an actual neighborhood so maybe they had to build it that way to keep the roads clear or something
