No, the definition of doghouse would be:

OM: DNP
AL: DNP
AR: DNP
AM: DNP
ND: DNP

Still no reason to bench a player that had you unbeaten going into that Alabama game. The game was in Bama and Lee got jarred. It happens. But you don't bench a player for the remainder of the season because they had a bad game. Just bizarre coaching by Miles as always. Lee was a much better passer than Jefferson and LSU's offense then was better suited to his skills. Just another dumb decision on top of dumb decisions by Miles.

With the benefit of hindsight, the offense picked up dramatically when Jefferson took over. Without the benefit of hindsight, how do you put Jefferson back on the bench when he preserved the Alabama win for the team on a day when Lee seemed determined to give it away?
We scored 40+ in four straight games and put up 450+ yards in three straight before a rematch with Alabama. Even including the SECCG, the offense improved even despite tougher competition. So I don't think there's a real argument that Lee was the better option for the last four games.
Do you think Miles should have started Lee against Alabama with what he showed against them throughout his career, including what he showed earlier in the season?

The only questionable calls were whether Lee should have gotten a shot in the BCSNC game and whether Harris should have gotten a shot against Arkansas.
I don't believe that the outcome would have changed in either.

Yeah those 25 yards against UGA was a vast improvement. Arkansas game was shite too until Mathieu turned both of them around with punt returns.
Dammit we're still talking about this 3 years later.

Look at the final scores of those games and tell me the coaches didn't know what they were doing. That team was skullfricking top 10 opponents.

That argument is such shite.
Mathieu had a scoop and score against Oregon. Claiborne had a KO Return score against West Virginia. Ron Brooks had a Pick 6 against Auburn.
Those are the only teams Lee faced as the starter who ended the season ranked.
The offense AS A UNIT performed better in the last four games (incl. Georgia) than the first eight. This is true regardless of what you wish to say about Jefferson's passing statistics.

Yes, Jefferson saved the day by doing something at the time Alabama was prepared for. (Run) But you don't bench a player that has performed admirably for you up to that point for the remainder of the season. That's just dumb has I said. Every QB has a bad game! If you used Miles' decision as a precedent all QB's would be benched after a bad game which is ridiculous. The offense under Lee was performing at a satisfactory level. As I said he got jarred by an Alabama defense in that game that could be argued as the best in college football. Jefferson played okay in his place for the remainder of the season, but the passing was nowhere as effective as it was with Lee. Lee should not have lost his starting position.

JJ was 5 for 13 for 30 yds.
If not for TM doing his thing we were gonna get stomped.
Why you people continue to defend the awful play of JJ is mind boggling.

How would you feel about Miles's approach if Harris had beaten Auburn and never relinquished the job?
The only difference between 2011 and 2014 is that Jefferson improved the offense and Harris didn't.

In the SEC Championship, against the 16th ranked team in the final BCS poll, equipped with the #4 Passing Defense...
Lee v. Oregon
10 for 22 for 98 yards
Lee v. Oregon
10 for 22 for 98 yards

Which is much better than 5 for 13 for 30 yds
Posted on 3/1/15 at 10:18 am to CptBengal
Marginally better. And Oregon's passing defense that year was nowhere near what Georgia's was.
Posted on 3/1/15 at 10:21 am to chilge1
I was at that Georgia game. JJ played awful. It's just a fact.
