Romo averaged 8.5 YPA last year, best in the league. At that rate, a QB would have to nearly break the record for attempts in a season to hit 6k. Would not happen with that volume.

Romo ain't Marino.

In Dan's best statistical season ('84) he averaged 9.0 ypa. And that's with his receivers getting mugged up and down the field and with no running game/credible play action. During that season he completed only 362/564 passes. That's tied for 65th on the all time list. You don't think he might up those numbers just a tiny bit in today's game?

In '84 he averaged 14 ypc. At that rate he'd only need to complete 428 passes to reach 6000 yds. 428 completions puts him at 10th place all time (ironically right ahead of Romo).
