Lemon, links of sausage, red potatoes, some sweet potatoes cut in half, corn on the cob, pearl onions, cloves of garlic....
yall help me out here. What's normal and appropriate and what over board?

I usually go:
lemon
corn
new potatoes
head of garlic
onion
once I'm done, I'll drop in some andouille then drain a can of green beans and let it sink to the bottom and soak for a bit. I don't put the sausage in with the bugs cause it makes them kinda greasy feeling.
that's as "fancy" as I get. throwing too much shite in there is just pointless and excessive IMO.
