how many RBs are in the league that run 4.83?
Not sure, but Adrian Foster ran a 4.7 and last I checked he's doing OK.

Kenny was never a speedster back, why expecting to run a time as such. No said shite about speed when he broke the Louisiana record in high school.
Come on now. Not just you, but others in this thread as well. I'm an LSU fan to my bone marrow, but Kenny running a 4.9 at 226 as a running back is very slow. We're not talking about a 4.68 which should have been expected, we're talking 4.83 and 4.9, those times don't even make sense.
Also like the one guy said, it was a lot of slower times. I was for sure that Yeldon, Abdullah and more would run better than a 4.6 something. Hell Duke Johnson, Melvin Gordon, etc times were way higher than most thought. The one surprise is that Langford is much faster than I thought. Another was that, I didn't know Karlos Williams was that big though (230?).
I used this last year, but seems like some scouts also picked up on it as well. Look at the 10 yard splits from now on. That shows you the true explosiveness of a prospect. Hill ran one of the fastest splits last year at 1.56 which is a perfect starting point to see just how explosive these guys are.

Kenny Hilliard will make a good pro
Highly doubt it.
He had 1500 yards in 4 years at LSU (like 390 a year). And was always 3rd or 4th on the team in carries. He was a RB3 at best for us and constantly was passed up on the depth chart.
He's gonna have a hard time making a team. At least he was smart enough to graduate and get his degree and I'm proud of him for that. Good kid that represented LSU very well while he was here.

Not surprised. He was never that fast.

Kenny Hilliard runs a 4.83 40 time
Guess Moffitt couldn't get a hold of him.

Jameis Winston ran a 4.97.
He was never any good in college.
Football speed and track speed aren't the same, and you aren't dodging bodies on the the track.

wow, I know he was slow, but damn that's horrible

Don't worry, he'll be Saint.

He was faster than 4.8 and he was still maturing/growing.
High school is sweet and all, but the NFL could care less. That speed at rb is not gonna cut it. Its not an attach on his character or nothing, but his natural size/speed maybe would have been suited better for a different position the last 2 years.

is the market very big for 226 lb. 4.8 40. LB's in the league? He does some things that make him more suitable for a RB despite his physical limitations. He would be slow for either position but at least at RB he can make use of attributes that he displays, like good receiver skills and nimble feet and balance. Might not make it in the league at RB either but I think his shot was better at RB. Not sure what he could have brought to the LB position.

How many times have we seen guys do decent in college before exploding in the NFL. You never know.
Alfred Blue was never anything special imo, a solid back for LSU but nothing more...he proved zilch after the injury but would up being drafted and having a good year with Houston. If he can do it, no doubt Kenny can

Alfred Blue was much more athletic

He was 248 his freshman year at LSU (when reporting)
I don't think 228 is natural for him. But if you are that light, you better be able to fly.

4.69 & 4.83 are worlds apart.

Hate to say it, but Hilliard was a different back as soon as he had his kids. He seemed more focused and more driven before that happened.
