Depending on the municipality of where you live, there are energy codes thatwindows need to meet. EBR has to be "low E" for new construction homes.
As a home builder, these window replacment companies methods of removal make me NERVOUS. All the origional flashing around the window rough opening along with assockated framing (wooden structure) is comprimised during every removal I have seen. If you gotta do something toimprove the current situation I would STRONGLY sugest storm windows by a known window distributor.
