He's an account of mine at work. Him and his dad run a company and I've done business with them for 10 years. Dude is 34 with two kids

A few hours ago the dad called me to tell me son had a seizure in bed Saturday and after rushing him to the hospital they found a tumor on his brain. Turns out it was cancerous. He said they were able to remove it but they are waiting for the results.

I was too in shock to ask any more detailed questions but what's his outlook like? I feel so bad, guy is great dude.

If they get all the cancer will be ok?

Can be ok.

Same thing happened in my family and was given a max of 10 years to live. Been close to 18 years and person is cancer free. Stay positive.

So many variables that go into this. His outlook will depend on what type of cancer it was, what stage it was at, where in his brain it was, and what percentage of the tumor they were able to get.

Don't ask questions. Just tell him you are terribly sorry to hear that and that you and your family will keep them in your prayers.

My cousin's wife had this exact scenario happen last June. She's 25 with 2 kids. They found a lemon sized tumor on the front left part of her brain and the harmones from her 2nd pregnancy triggered it's rapid growth. Luckily, the seizure saved her life by bringing awareness to the situation and they were able to get it out. It was cancerous but they removed all of it. She just had a scan done not too long ago and is 100% cancer free.

As a 32 year old with 2 young kids myself this kind of stuff scares the hell out of me.

For some reason the last couple of months I have developed almost a phobia of dying and leaving my children to grow up without a father.

Hope the guy comes out alright and everything gets back to normal for him.

Dealt with shite like this before, do you know where in the brain? That's the big question

Edit: killed multiple people I know including best friends (21 years old) and close family members. The worst was the cancer that spread down to thr lungs for my 21 yr old friend. You think you are invincible at that age but a sickness like that really drops the world on you.

I still go to her and my uncles grave each year. They strangly ended up buried 10 yares from each other on a hill. Can't think if the name but the place right down the street from parkview baptist

For real, if it's a terminal thing, just be there for the family. As I posted earlier, one of my good friends in her early 20's died and I still keep in contact with her mom. I have been over to thief house multiple times to grab a few drinks and just bullshite. It goes a long way

very similar to what happened to my dad , he never woke up from surgery , remained in a coma for two weeks before he passed ... very hard to go through , he was 69 and had never had any medical issues before that ....

You're not getting the bonus this year, frickstick. Your pool is going the same place as your client's motor skills and memories of his childrens' birth, a-hole.

it depends on the type of cancer, the location, and other factors. some are a death sentence, but others are not. the biggest problem i've heard about cancers of the brain is that, if it's operable, it's difficult to remove 100% of it because you can't do much exploration without a significant risk of impairing the patient.

anecdotally: "bald bryan" bishop, co-host and drops guy from the adam carolla podcast, was diagnosed with having a tumor on his brain stem 4 or 5 years ago. because of the location, surgery was not an option, so he went through various chemo and radiation therapies. before treatment, he began to notice some ambulatory and speech impairment, but both have subsided since treatment. so, he still has the tumor, but it's being continuously monitored and treated. i don't know what the survivability rate is of his specific form of cancer, but he's still well and living a perfectly normal life.

good luck to your account guy. never ever lose hope.
