re: Bottom Line: You want to compete for championships you better have a QB

2011 made some think otherwise. We had an NFL caliber defense and the playmaker of the decade, and a poor Qb, and we still had one of the best regular seasons in college football history, and also won the SEC.
But short of the NFL defense and Honey Badger, we would not have had either the best season nor the SEC championship. It was the rare exception to the "you have to have a good QB" thesis.

This season may determine exactly how rare of a thing it is. 2015 defense is loaded.

we actually had relatively good QB's in 2011 compared to the rest of the SEC

What? Both of our qbs in 2011 posted higher qb ratings than Flynn in 07.

2011- Honey Badger
He was the reason why we went undefeated. His value to the team was immeasurable. He was a lightning rod that energized the team, and stadium. It's ashame he didn't get to finish his career (in the right way) here
We have two losses in 2011 if not for him, IMO.

the 2011 season couldn't be a more perfect season to use to prove OPs theory correct.
