Plenty of people will be here to hate on the man but his voice is/was legendary and we'll see that right away with whoever replaces him.

I have to disagree. I listened to an Ohio State basketball game on Sirius one day while driving, and their play-by-play guy was outstanding. Very knowledgeable with a voice made for radio.

I know they are hard to come by, but Jim isn't a guy that's "hard to replace".

I don't have to hate Jim Hawthorne to say that's just sheer silliness.

If Hanigriff takes over baseball after Jim leaves, I'll never again miss going to a baseball game. That way I won't have to hear his disgusting voice.

I'm 34 years old. Have never heard anyone else do it. When I hear that voice, I immediately think LSU. He will be missed.

Why not say something nice about Jim. Instead you want to preemptively negate any criticism. Also, you think that the replacement is going to be inferior to Jim.

Say something nice. Even if people criticize some of Jim's calls.
