I'm jelly of the group rates you guys get through your employer.

I'm self-employed, and my premium is 770 per month with a 6,600 deductible for 2 adults, 2 children, and none of us are on any meds.

I ought to be able to get the low rate and low deductible, because they way I see it, we are all part of the same "group" of people buying insurance, no matter who we work for.

To me, benefits are a big reason I got into the field I am in and stay with the company I am with. I know I could get a job with more time at home and make more money, but would come with less job security and worse benefits. I like what I do and who I do it for, but I would like to be home every other Friday like some of my friends...but then again I don't want to travel to other cities once a month, be on the road non stop have a $5k insurance deductible, etc.

My wife could probably about $10-$15k more than what she does now too with another company, but she has some major perks that are too good to pass up (6 weeks paid vacation, companies puts 10% towards her 401K per month - not match, they just put 10% in)
