worst is basically 36(35.9) we are 31. washington is 33.5! lol.

Caps are at 28.9. Tops in the league is Minnesota at 26.8. New Jersey allows 30.7.

middle of the pack actual numbers wise for the habs. you make it out as if we are 22nd in the league so we are horrible on D! 5 shots more per game? meh. big deal.

It doesn't suck, but it's not great. First off, 5 shots on goal a game is a TON. Over a season, that's 400 more shots allowed. I'm saying that the Habs have a below average D yet are FIRST in goal prevention. Why? Because Carey Price is a god amongst men.

we are #4 in the league in penalty killing. You think that's all price?

Not all, but a penalty kill is only as good as its goalie.

We have shot blockers but we are not blocking as much as we used to. Washington has some very good shot blockers in carlson and orpik and alzner that definitely boosts holtbys stats. It's part of the game.

Sure, shot blocking helps. But we're talking about shots on goal, which by definition, have not been blocked. The Habs allow more shots on goal. The Habs also allow more shot attempts, whether they reach goal or not. They do, however, block more shots.

also, do not forget QUALITY OF SHOTS!

Ovi could score from the moon if it was allowed by rule. Really, goalies are so good in the NHL, most goals come off of rebounds, and Price doesn't allow those because he is sort of awesome. But he is carrying the Habs this year. There's nothing wrong with that, and in fact, history is littered with Cup champions carried by their great goalie. I wouldn't bet against it.
