Very possible with cox. Think they have to install a filter to block the channels. I know a couple of people getting free tv through cox

This is 100% true. I do this. Get all of the digital channels that you would get with an antenna in HD as well.

This is true for a lot of people, but it may not be true for everyone. Cox's cable lines were made for cable TV. The cable TV signal must be constantly transmitted over the lines in order for the cable to work on TVs without boxes. When you are an internet-only customer, you still are connected through that same cable line that TV signals are being transmitted over.

They are supposed to install a filter that blocks the analog frequencies that cable TV is broadcast over. But if you cancel your cable and go bring in your box to the Cox office, they're probably not going to bother to schedule someone to drive out to your place to they can filter out your cable TV signals.

They do sometimes though. When I was living in a small apartment building near LSU, I ordered internet service only from Cox and since the previous tenant's service had not yet been disconnected they didn't bother to come out to make changes. I was paying for internet only and getting tons of channels for free, which was great for a kid in college.

One day I pull into my parking spot and spot a Cox van driving away. All of the doors in the building had little paper flyers around the doorknobs saying that Cox had done work in the area and if we had any problems to call such-and-such number. I turned on the TV later and... cable TV gone! Filtered out.

I cancelled cox cable and still have internet. I screwed the cable directly into the back of my tv and voila, I still have cable.

My question. Is there a way I can enhance the standard definition channels I am getting? TIA
