I was fine with all of Monty's coaching last night other than keeping Wolters in the game too long. He's abysmal on defense. Can't guard his own man, doesn't play help D. JJB made him look like a statue in the 3rd quarter. Granted there was nobody behind him for help, but damn.. that was embarrassing.

I know we don't have many other options at PG right now, so I guess I can't blame him too much. Just thought he played too much.

Only other time I was upset was on the inbounds play late in the 3rd or early in the 4th with 9 seconds left on the shot clock. May have been the players fault, I'm not sure, but the inbounds pass was thrown to QPon who then lobbed a slow pass to Tyreke at the half court line. That wasted majority of the shot clock, then Tyreke jacked up a 4 pointer.

As bad as the defense was all game it was great in the 4th qtr. And im happy to admit that it was 100% scheme. We would quickly double Dirk and get the ball out of his hand. The only shot we were letting him take was the 3. And he took for a clip of about 1-4 down the stretch. Even on the Monta layup to give them the lead, I thought we defended it well.

Only plays that REALLY upset me was a lack of rebound effort by Ryno(and Wolters) in the beginning of the 2nd quarter that gave up a 3. Wolters thought it was so obvious that Ryno would grab it that he didn't even try either.

Then there was the rebound conceded on the missed free throw that resulted in a 3 when we were up 8. Ended up being a 4 point possession. I could understand if Dirk misses his 2nd free throw and it takes a tough hop..... But this was freaking Rondo. He's almost a certainty to miss it. Expect a miss. It was a totally normal rebound that they just allowed a scrub like Powell to come over their back and bat away because they didn't give any effort.

Those are 2 effort plays that gave up 6 points. And I'm not nitpicking on the effort. It was pitiful on both accounts.

I think Pondexter actually inbounded the ball to Anderson, who was really nonchalant moving it to Evans. It was obvious the design was to inbound to Evans, but he couldn't get open. Pondexter did the right thing by getting it in, but Anderson needed to be more creative than to force a lob to Evans at the mid-court circle.

Sometimes the defense sniffs out the play and then the players need to take over and make a play. On that sequence, Anderson did the exact opposite.
