Pat Sajak has the best job on television

How ridiculously easy is, and how did he luck into, his job?

He's had some good one liners on the rare occasions I watch Wheel. Showed some acting chops on Larry Sanders. Vanna's job is a billion times easier an I bet that she didn't make THAT much less than Pat did..

Surprises me, frankly. I do remember he was Ed Grimley's hero.

It certainly seems to come with job security since the show has been on the air forever.

At least Alex Trebek has to do a lot of reading and speaking and at times pronouncing foreign words.

It is legitimately the dream job. Dude even said he's done it drunk, lol.
No but I would love to do it. Work only about 7-8 months a year and get to travel to cool locations for free for your game show hosting job.

Second best.
She doesn't even have to turn the letters anymore.

It's not easy to host a show like that. Have you seen a game show with a weak host? It totally throws off the vibe. Pat's got charisma and a great voice. I didn't realize how great his voice actually is until I heard him on a radio interview. He's an all-time great.

Pshaw.

Apparently he stumbled into. Can't remember the exact story.

It's likely much harder than you think. Having contestants in the game, your coworker, all of your camera/production crew, a studio audience, and a TV audience at home all focusing directly on YOU, waiting on your instruction and to follow your lead...I know I wouldn't want to do that. But then again I don't do well in front of crowds.

Be that as it all may, it's an easily exhausted topic and I don't see much future for this thread. So....
Is a 4x television really worth the extra cost?

Thousands upon thousands of shows and stuff becomes second nature. Plus it's not live, and a studio audience understands if you flub something and have to go back and reshoot it.

Plus Sajak hooked a playboy centerfold on top of the gravy train job

I once attended a party at Vanna White's house. True story. My business had connections with Michael Kaye, her husband.

Why would you tell us a false story about Vanna White?
