What I'm saying smartazz is that the front office has dropped the ball to many times. Yeah Collison should have stayed, he would be a SOLID backup. No, I'm sure compared to you I am not even worthy enough to respond. Small market teams need to build thru draft and fill in the pieces with hidden gems and older veterans.
Most of the picks/trades you named were from a previous regime. the current regime hasn't traded picks for any "over the hill" players. this is one of the youngest teams in the NBA. the picks we dealt were turned into above average proven players who still have room for development. this team is miles ahead of where they would had they built through the draft.

Understand where you come from , but three years plus ago still affects this team. Dealing Dell has made bad trades that will affect future GM. We should keep draft picks, Noels seems pretty good. Jrue is average point guard. Asik is ordinary, 6-8 points with maybe 10 boards. Will we ever get a scoring three and put Tyreke at 2? Just my 2 cents! With no real center or 3 scoring, unless Tyreke in there that's what: Asik and Pondexter, Cunningham gives you about 16-20 points. We need a 16-20 point 3 spot, then Asik wouldn't be a offensive liability

Not the current one.

Trading him got us out from under Posey's contract and gave us Ariza. That was a good trade.

It just means your are less informed. Its not even a slight.

This is the NBA not the NFL. You maybe, if youre lucky, get 1 good starter every 3 years out of the draft.

We don't need offense out of the center position. I think your underselling Jrue. yea we need to upgrade at the 3 and that can be addressed via free agency. It's not as bad as the media would lead you to believe. If this team had a competent coach most of these issues would be hidden.

Totally agree, the NBA draft is a crap shoot.

You think Jrue is better than: Stephen curry, kyrie Irving, lillard, lowry, ty Lawson, CP3, Derrick Rose, Jeff Teague, Kemba walker, John wall or Westbrook. That's 12. I think he is even or behind, Bledsoe, trey Burke, Alex Burks, Michael Carter Williams, Nick Collison, George hill, rondo. That puts him around 15-18 in ranking! That's average to me!

The only ones he is behind IMO is Curry, Irving, Lillard, CP3, Wall, and Westbrook.
That puts him #7 in ranking! That's above average to me!
Where do you think Noel ranks as far as big men? I think he is below average to me!

Noel
This is such a stupid argument........ we were NEVER going to take Noel..... we were going to take Trey Burke so it's really dumb to compare Holiday to Noel.....
With that being said, I would've taken Jrue over either of them.

Just want to make sure that I have this correct:
-Jrue is average
-Asik is ordinary
-Nerlens Noel "seems pretty good"

HAHA I just noticed he said Nick Collison instead of Darren Collison

Jrue does not equal Noel or Burke.
Jrue plus an extra $8 million against the cap plus forfeiting a top 8 draft pick last year (because we'd have been really bad again and have had 12 less wins) equals Noel or Burke.
I realize we couldn't have done this because Benson (God bless him, seriously, but...) calls the shots and thinks you can "win now" in the NBA like you can in the NFL, but the smart play would have been to take the insane value in Noel (consensus #1 before injury), rest him like the Sixers did, get another great pick last year, bring him along this year, then flip him for a major piece for next season.
That's what San Antonio would have done IMO.

True, it's just most of the laundry list of complaints you made weren't his moves.

We should keep draft picks
We have in Anthony Davis what many are regarding as a top 3 player today. You close his contention window 2-3 years by building slowly through the draft and making him wait on the team. You can have issues with the players we traded for, but I think the general direction of trading picks for young veterans is the way to maximize what you have in Davis. It's not like we passed up Wiggins to accelerate the timeline, we passed up, best case scenario with perfect hindsight, Steven Adams and Elfrid Payton. That's not bad, but that team isn't making the playoffs for 2-3 more years at least. This team was supposed to make them this year and should make them next year if they get the right GM and Coach.

In hindsight, the biggest mistakes Demps has made appear to be resigning Gordon and trading away Vasquez, Lopez, and the 2015 pick for Tyreke and Asik.

Chris Paul was a really good person who (at one point) wanted to play his entire career in New Orleans. It seems like Anthony Davis is a similar quality man. We blew things with Chris Paul through bad luck, poor decisions (Peja's extra year and forcing Posey which cap-wise forced us to give up on a top 5 center sooner than we should have).
As good a job as Bower did surrounding Chris Paul with an in-his-prime David West and an undervalued Tyson Chandler to create one of the more underappreciated "Big 3's" in recent NBA history, it still ultimately fizzled and we lost a top 25 player of all time before we needed to.
I hate to tell you (and it's way too early to panic), but 2.5 years into Anthony Davis' tenure as a NOLA NBA'er, we're off to an even worst start than we were with CP3.

The guy we traded him for, Ariza, still plays and is a better player.

For a 16-25 team. Ariza starts for a 29-13 team, for comparison.

That whole offseason was an abortion but really should be "blamed" on Benson (and maybe) Loomis. I really think the magical 2006 (and 2000) Saints' turnaround seasons had them thinking that "we can do dat wit da Hawnits too!").
If we'd have just stood pat and kept GV, Lopez, our picks, and taken the best value both last season and this season in the drafts, we'd be sitting on so many assets and so much cap room right now. We'd be exponentially better off. It's really quite sad.
This team isn't even fun to watch IMO. I'd rather have young Bucks type team loaded with talent, youth, athleticism, and future maneuverability than to have this plodding, 40 win snoozefest of a team.

Yeah, but Noels fits what we do perfectly.
