I've been trying to find a song for a few hours now and it's driving me crazy so I'm hoping that the music board can give me some help. I'll do my best to describe it so bear with me, it's a rock/punk song from the 70-80's and the singer has a pretty strong British accent. From what I remember it has a pretty consistent rhythm and it's composed mainly of power chords or simple chords.
It's almost reminiscent of "Song 2" by The Blur and the most identifiable feature of it is the chorus; it has a really strong pause followed by an iconic line. The song is pretty popular and used to come on 98.1 all the time. Thanks for the help fellas

I couldn't figure out a song for many, many years (about 9) as I only heard it a few times when I was in "sub conscience" mode during my heavy party days. However I could remember a small part of the melody in my head over and over. The harder I tried, the worst it became. Then one I was shopping in Lowes and heard a elevator version of it....and finally figured it out which lead me to this musician.
turns out it was a song that my little girl danced to in pre-k !!!
Mystery solved!!
