It won't last. Way to much capital spent on that location to sell Mexican food

I know you know much more about this kind of stuff than I do, but I find it hard to believe that they can't "make money".

Mexican food like they sell has to be a cheap food cost and their prices aren't exactly cheap. And every SOB who goes there is drinking a couple of highly marked up margaritas.

The food is going to be average at best, but if Ninfa's and Superior and all of the other grease and cheese shitholes can keep people coming back, I can't see why VC with a great atmosphere will not do the same.

Read the post below yours for said reason. That whole transaction from buying to today has to be close to 2.5 million.

And it hasn't even opened yet. Add to that the normal costs associated with restaurant startup, payroll, insurance, taxes, food cost, general overhead and you've got to shove a lot of tacos and margaritas out the door to cover that. Deep pockets will be needed and a friendly banker.

And the location, while great area, isn't the best. Hard to get in and out of as well as too many margaritas and a large nightly police presence.

I wish them well but I'm glad I'm not an investor.

But there are a lot of people who are loyal Superior and Ninfa's customers. I don't know how you chisel those people away. Superior is our go-to Mexican place. Velvet Cactus will have to really be good to start cutting into our trips there
