Sounds like a cool idea. Will be held March 22nd

The league sent out a memo to teams, which PFT has obtained a copy of, which outlines their plan for the first Veteran Combine on March 22.
The event will allow veteran free agents to go through the same kinds of drills and testing draft prospects go through in Indianapolis, with representatives of all 32 clubs on hand.
Veteran free agents have been allowed at regional rookie combines in recent years, but this gives teams a chance to get a like-for-like look at guys who have played in the league.

Favre says he'll be there.

This is a great idea. Now the old "I like this aging player, but he has lost a step" can be put to the test.

Locker will go light it up and the Titans will draft him with the second pick.

Its a good idea for sure. I'm sure the player's union loves the idea.

I don't think there would be another draft

I was just taking a shot at their front office doing something that illogical
Like this idea though, as does NFL network I'm sure.

Hmm, this could hurt some guys though, no?
I'll use Reggie Wayne as an example although I have no idea about his contract or worth or if he would ever need to go to this thing. But the other day I was wondering how much he had left in the tank after espn showed a long TD catch he had.
Broken coverage but he still had to book it...and looked sloooooooow. What if a guy is in good shape to be picked up and then his workout ends any chance of someone signing him?

definitely see what you are saying. Do FA's typically have to work out for a team before they sign them though?

Don't GMs have oh I don't know actual game footage of these players? The concept is somewhat intriguing but I just don't see the point

Sure. Game film from oh I don't know a few years ago. It would be nice to see what they still have before writing them off as over the hill.

When guys "visit" with NFL teams as free-agents, they are working out.
I don't really see this a 225 bench press, 40 time kind of combine.
It's more of a skills deal most likely.
The NFL is just trying to get more of a market share for the NFL network. But it helps the teams get a better read on free-agents and helps the FAs get more exposure as well.
It's a win-win-win.
If you don't want to go, you just don't go. It won't be mandatory or even strongly suggested like the rookie combine.

Is Jamarcus still in shape or did he get fat again?

rename this thread "jamarcus watch- 2015"

This is good. It allows some of the guys that don't have that many connections or have shitty agents to showcase themselves.
