If Steele does a great job

What will all of our fans say? Chavis wasn't exactly setting the world on fire with his schemes. He benefitted from having great players. Steele has learned under Tom Osbourne, Bobby Bowden, and saban. I'm sure he's learned from his mistakes along the way as well and is hungry to prove he is a good DC. I'm going into this open minded and if he can somehow help get us over the top and into title contention again, this will be a good hire. The cupboard isn't bare here, far from it actually

I wiill admit I am wrong. Problem is I'm not. Decline is real

They will say (a) they knew Steele was a great hire from the beginning or (b) the only reason Steele was good was because he worked with Nick Saban.

I wish I could be that optimistic
But going off of his coaching career this is an awful hire.

Catman hit the nail on the head.

Lol I've seen enough from him to know how this will go.

We can only hope
its just discouraging to see LSU go from hiring "Proven" coaches to giving someone a chance to prove he can be a good DC

Glad you're keeping an open mind and waiting to see results before judging!

He has been fired from every stop the past 10 years. What makes year 11 any different?

No one will admit that they were wrong. The better he is the more intense the attacks will become.

I want to be wrong because right now I feel this is a horrible hire. Look at what the guys done as a dc

This melt is absolutely retarded without seeing what he can do at LSU first

Lol what?
Chavis was widely regarded as 1 of the top DCs in all of college football and was highly respected for 20years...

Would you hire a poor employee that was fired 2 x and has never showed he could succeed. Give him a huge raise and then claim to be optimistic that he will turn a corner for the first time in his long career?

Him doing a great job still wouldn't make this a good hire. It'd be a lucky hire.

Not happening. Don't fool yourself this was a terrible hire.

I don't expect him to do well at all but I will admit if I am wrong.
