I was thinking it'd be cool to do a real-time mission. And the only way to force real time in the game is to be within a certain amount of meters within the surface of an object.

So, I think we should do a real-time circum-planet. Whoever can circle the planet in the fastest time wins.

This allows people who like to do planes do planes, and rocket people to do rockets.

You have to land near where you took off from.

I must say I had a lot of fun doing the last challenge. There were a lot of good tries at rescuing the stranded rocket and everyone's stranded KErbalnaut made it home. I learned a lot about KSP itself and about doing these challenges.

Okay, here we go. Challenge 4.

Using the Kerbal Space Program Space Center as your starting point, you will circumnavigate Kerbin. You may go in any direction you like, but you must land as close as possible to the starting point.

Goal: Fastest time around Kerbin at set altitudes.
Altitudes are:
5,000 m
30,000 m
100,000 m
250,000 m

You can do as many of these 4 altitudes as you would like.

Rules:
Reach altitude as quickly as possible
Once you reach altitude you must stay within 500 meters of that altitude. Honor system here guys.
Sandbox mode
No mods
No budget
Whatever type of vehicle you like, planes, rockets etc
The launch pad will serve as start and finish, +1 second for every 100 m off the launch pad when you land.
You may go in any direction on the map you like
At least some part of your ship and 1 kerbalnaut must survive landing.

Required pictures:
Takeoff
Once you reach altitude
Landing, showing distance to launch pad
Time from launch to land

Good luck and happy flying
