Well the other way to interpret that is that no decision is "not really much of a decision." No offer means no decision necessary. Especially if he couldn't afford the time it would take for Les to weigh his options.

He had an offer and an ultimatum from PSU (Franklin). $1M, take it or leave it. Answer by ________.
Miles was not going to extend an offer within that timefraim, so he jumped on the sure thing.

Your logic is that "wasn't much of a decision" is evidence that he had an offer?
