Pretty sure the only person I want restructuring is Brees.

I don't think you understand what restructuring is. The player gets paid the same either way at the same time. We're just converting a guaranteed roster bonus into a signing bonus. There is not a reason to not do it.

We have to restructure these contracts to get under the cap.

Well I completely disagree. Kick the can until Brees retires. The salary cap keeps going up, and if you decide not to use the cap space generated you can roll over the savings to the next year.

depends what we are trying to do, i don't want to restructure ALL the guys you have listed. I want to be able to eat some of those monies this year so we're pushing less on the back end in future years. Is Drew really going to play another 4 years? Maybe i'm not sure, if we do an extension with him and he doesn't play those 2 years, we are extending dead cap into future years post drew.

I think restructuring is fine if we are sure about the player being good and staying the full contract, Brees and Lewis for example. Seems when we restructure it puts more dead money in the deals. I could be wrong, I'm asking more than anything. I would rather our cap situation be good when Brees leaves. I know we were 7-9 but we aren't but a few pieces and hopefully less injuries away from being a contender.
