So I was about to buy TurboTax to get a start on my taxes this year. I usually buy the CD because I split it with coworkers. Well I go to amamzon the see some reviews and it is basically one star from 600 people. What the heck did TurboTax do this year to piss everyone off?

Click on the # reviews next to the stars rating and you can read the comments from the people who rated it.

Haven't heard anything. I used it (online last year) and it was fine for me.

Looks like they dont support schedule D unless you buy the most expensive version. It has been included in the basic versions in years past I guess.

Used it online for the first time last year. Can't believe I waited that long to try it.

Does the CD version link to online accounts and auto download info?

From what I read, it is the capital gains/losses form. So basically if you sold stock you need this form (someone correct me if I am wrong).

Yeah, schedule D is for Capital Gains and Losses, and if they removed that and are upcharging to get it, that is ridiculous. But then TurboTax has always been pretty terrible.

That's exactly what they have done. Go read the reviews on amazon. People are furious. The VP of Turbo Tax actually is commenting on the comments also.

For any Vanguard users, Turbo Tax (online) offers a discount when you access Turbo Tax through the link from your Vanguard account.

I've used the online version for a few years, what's the difference in that one and the one you buy on amazon or in a store?

I used turbo tax online until last year. I switched to TaxAct. It was free to file where turbotax would have cost me like $40 or something.
