M&M staying one more year?

I know the chances are really low that both martin and mickey stay for another year.
What are the chances one of them stays? From what I've seen mickey is the one with the most potential to make the jump although I've seen a lot of good things from Martin.
Highly unlikely but crazy starting 5 if they stayed: gray, Blakeney, martin, Mickey, and Simmons
They would be a little small but man they would be able to run with the best of them

1 of them staying: ~20%
Both staying: <5%

Outside of Gray, how is that small?
7 footers aren't that important in college, and we have 1 of them if needed.

It will depend on how this season plays out.. If they go far but feel there is a much greater chance to go even deeper next year without hurting their draft stock, then they may stay. The chances of both staying are unlikely, IMO, though.

7 footers? not important
Competent post players? very important.
Even if Elbert makes a huge jump next season, we'd still be lacking a lot of depth down low if both Martin and Mickey leave.

if we have the season we are capable of having, I agree with this assessment. Martin is not even on many draft boards as of right now, but I expect him to catapult into the top 15 of the first round. Watching him play this season has been fun. His athleticism for a 6'10" player is very unique, and I think he will be a better play in the NBA than he is in college.

Martin is gone. Too big, with too good a skill set. They'll teach him tough just like they did Bynum and Drummond, who both came in soft.

Out of curiosity, why did you use 2 centers as a comparison?

It is a pipe dream that both stay, but could you imagine what kind of team we would have with them and the incoming freshman we have signed.

Martin should stay. I think bases on what I have seen this year, that he will not project to the 1st round as some have mentioned.
he is super athletic but has a hard time finishing in traffic unless he is in position to dunk. He has a very low basketball IQ and his shot must improve (it is very inconsistent). His weaknesses that will prevent him from being a top 15 pick are correctable ones. some people leave early because their deficits are what they are. Martin's however, can be fixed with hard work and time. at least IMO

I think this statement alone supports him to leave. Like you said, his weaknesses are very correctable. So do you go to the NBA where you get to play against the elite and have the elite coaching you or stay in college where it will be more difficult to refine your skills? #hegone

I'm not really a big NBA guy so I can't say how well he looks for the NBA. But @ 6'10 martin has some of the best all around offensive games I've seen in the NCAA. He could easily be one of the best players in the country next year if not by the end of the year imo.

Neither are being drafted in the first round as of now so they should.

I just picked 2 big men that were supremely athletic, but considered soft.

I am going to operate under the assumption that neither will be at LSU next season. If one or both returns, I'll be thrilled, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
It's fun to play the what-if rosterbation game, the team would truly be stacked with either of them, let alone both, but ultimately it's highly unrealistic to expect either to stay in school.

Woah, that's some serious hyperbole.

Say what now?

Not saying he is now. But he has good skill on each level on the offensive side. He can post someone up, take them to the goal and shoot with them in his face pretty well.
