he is basically a Jennings clone

Jennings passed for 200+ yards one time this year (in the 1st game of the season). Golston passed for 200+ yards in every game except the 2 games where he only took some of the snaps. He also had four straight 300+ yards games (including one 400+ yard game). He had 300+ yards against the #1 team at the time in FSU. He also threw a pretty good amount of interceptions, so he is not much like Jennings. He puts the ball in the air - for good or bad. And we know ND does not have the receiving talent that LSU has. He might not be great, but he can obviously move the ball down the field.

People don't realize that his junior stats are eerily similar to Russell Wilson's at NCST.

Russell Wilson Jr NCST 308/526 (58.6%) 3563 yards (6.8 ypa) 28 TDs 14 ints
144 car (2.93 ypc) 422 yards 9 TDs

Russell Wilson Sr Wisconsin
225/309 (72.8%) 3175 yards (10.3 ypa) 33 TDs 4 ints
79 car (4.28 ypc) 338 yards 6 TDs

Everett Golson Jr ND
256/427 (60%) 3445 yards (8.1 ypa) 29 TDs 14 ints
114 car (2.48 ypc) 283 yards 8 TDs

Everett Golson Sr LSU
???
???

Please let this happen

Wilson was the 1st thing that came to mind when I saw the headline.

Absolutely absurd that anyone would just dismiss Gilson.

Less was demanded of Wilson at a run heavy program like Wisconsin & he threw over 200 less passes than he did at N.C. State(I don't know whether it was the the same amount of games?).

Just like Wilson at Wisconsin , Golson would not be asked to throw the ball quite as often at LSU. I bet Golsons already good efficiency would probably improve at LSU.

Although I think Wilson transferred in January & not May so he had a Spring Practice & summer to get comfortable with teammates/system.

But that's an entire game for AJ.

With that said, I would take Golston in a heartbeat. If nothing else, we need more scholarship QBs on the roster.

He may not even be able to throw the ball until summer.

A broken Braxton Miller is probably better than a healthy AJ.

Jennings is the absolute worst QB I have ever seen in the purple and gold.

so anything would be better

Worst case scenario, Braxton Miller would be a great addition in a senior leadership role to groom Harris and whatever Freshmen we bring in.

With that said, it is a moot point. He's not coming here.

This is fricking retarded. The QB turning the football over has nothing to do with the defense. The defense can be a pile of dog shite, but that doesn't mean Golson should fumble the ball once a game when getting tackled or throw 3 INTs.

Calm the hell down. With zero running game, and a defense that has turned to garbage, plus a bad OL, the guy did everything he could to win those games. Of course he made plenty mistakes, but that year is behind him.

With a good defense, good run game, and solid OL, he won't be asked to win all the games, just be a game manager. The guy is pretty accurate and smart. I really wish he does consider it and Miles agrees to it.

Harris should think about it this way, redshirt here, leave and redshirt somewhere else, fight hard to start, or play the backup role and prepare for the next two years at LSU.

I dunno....Golston is bit to accurate for my taste, how does his handoff look? can he run a high school misdirection motion offense?

Golston would be a great pickup. One year Senior starter followed by two years of Harris.

You know, "slightly better" could be the difference between 2 or 3 wins. You don't want that?
