Of course. I can too. It's not about whether you can make it, it's about if you are sure you can make it 10/10 times. Can you? If not, then dont take it. He wounded a deer on an iffy shot.

what caliber and bullet was used btw?

Just take off running at 200yds and let him shoot at you if you are confident he shouldn't do it based on his capabilities.

No one can say for certain they can make a shot 10/10 times. Too many variables are involved.

Can we get back to bitching about deer hair color.

200 yards is not an iffy shot. You hunt long enough, things happen. You try to recover every one you shoot at, you try to centerpunch every one. It doesn't work that way.

With any luck the deer got his freak on and he can shoot his offspring in a few years. And so it goes.

BTW...I think this deer will be found if he can find a track dog. Much more confident in the gut punch than a lot of the bad shots.
