Learning the 5 plays we run on offense just can't be that complicated....

After spending a decade in the pros, it had been too long since Cam had coached up QB's as green as the one's we had on our roster this year. Cam overwhelmed his players, and he's already admitted that. It was like Cam's got a PhD. and he's teaching HighSchool freshmen. You could see progress made after he tweaked the offense.

We ran a few more than the same 5 plays yesterday. Not one delay of game or false start. No time outs taken. I think the O looked better than usual except for the QB, who, at times was terrible.

The "play not to lose because of the fear of turning the ball over" approach really does mind frick our QB's. We don't even attempt enough throws to get them in rhythm sans 2013.

When Jennings takes the snap and sees two guys on 83, he freaks.

He went through his progressions and actually found his TE yesterday for big gains. When you only have 14 attempts, it's hard to see his progress but it's there as far as his read progressions go.

Remember all the "vanilla" offense references in 2008 on this board...how we have this magical play book that will eventually be used.

Well where the frick is it?

both excellent points that have been obvious to me for some time. They take the exact opposite approach to what you should be doing with young and less than stellar QB's. You get them in a rhythm by actually throwing fairly often in actual games. You put them in the shotgun where it is easier to see the routes develop. You throw on downs where the run is expected. You run multiple recievers. You use the RB's, TE's and WR's as recievers. Don't lock on to one(two) recievers as the go to guy (Durel 2014 and OBJ/Landry 2013). Use the whole field including the middle of the field. Build the confidence of the QB's and recievers. It's not that complicated as seen in nearly every bowl game that you watch on TV right now.

The most confused looking is CLM. Sometimes he looks as if he was just dropped onto the field from an alien spacecraft. Total bewilderment.

I have to say I sometimes wonder what the hell they do during practice. I have always believed in the old saying you play how you practice. Case in point would be Bama. Saban has always been know for his intense practices and it shows in games. I really am starting to believe that Miles just lets players go through the motions most of the week.

You have this pegged to a tee! It's as if he has been dropped on the field from a little league team and he is trying hard to look like he belongs.

The game looks like it's moving too fast for miles.
