Leftism on Netflix

I re-subscribed to Netflix and started checking out the documentaries.
Inequality for All – A case about the “crisis of the widening economic gap”
Park Avenue – The street that exemplifies the “widening gap between rich and poor”
The Flaw – Investigates the cause of run of the 2008 collapse
Citizen Koch – The mounting struggle between money and democracy
We’re Not Broke – Frustrated citizens protest corporate taxation
This is in addition to a host of other others such as Food, Inc., Gasland, Fracking Nation, Enron; Hank, etc.
All of these productions indict things like free markets, capitalism, deregulation and, of course, the evil, greedy 1% (oh, and Ronald Reagan
). They always cite the income gap as the problem, and never blame government regulation or its corruptible influence in creating these situations. Even though I agree with some of the legitimate issues they raise, they uniformly suggest more government regulation/taxation as the only solution.
Is all this stuff because Netflix has an obvious leftist agenda, or is there simply a lack of right-leaning documentaries for them to promote to counter some of the BS being marketed here?
The end result is that people watching this barrage of slanted and sometimes outright dishonest propaganda pieces would surely have a warped view of our economic and political system. If the right wants to partake in the argument, they better get on the ball and get in on this action.

Leftsts (the far left) are activists because they are true believers.

Inequality for All - one and a half stars
Park Avenue - one star
The Flaw - two and a half stars
Citizen Koch - one star
Let them be viewed. They are clearly not resonating with the viewers.

the latter
i've seen plenty of libertarian/free market docs on netflix, but there just aren't as many out there
Fat Head was a good one. it was on there for years. i don't think ti is anymore. great response to Super Size Me
they used to have a bunch of Ayn Rand stuff on there, too

Sounds like pure leftism their.
Only a fricking communist loser librul would want to know the causes of the 2008 crash. The rest of us smart people don't need an investigation we know the answer. Obama. DUH

That's my view.
"Documentaries" are, in my view, a near complete waste of time these days.
The theory of a "documentary" is someone researched a subject in a relatively unbiased manner and then the film shows their findings.
The reality of documentaries is that they are little more than agenda pieces.

this is mainly due to that fat piece of shite michael moore. while i don't agree with his politics, hypocrisy, and demeanor, i truly hate the man for destroying the documentary
a simple rule is this: the more narration, the worse the documentary

quote:The teacher's unions make a compelling bad guy. That seems to be a necessary ingredient. Any filmmaker who makes a conservative documentary that isn't supported by at least some of the liberal establishment risks marginalizing themselves. There are just enough school choice liberals to get away with covering that.

Documentaries can be as much propaganda as they are information. MIchael Moore's pieces for example.

Because they're awful.

quote:I think exploring government pressure on banks to make stupid loans is a compelling topic, as is exposing the CRA restructuring that helped build the house of cards. Also, if free market solutions offer solutions to the income gap, this would be an effective medium to explain and promote them.
What conservative concerns would make a compelling documentary?
But, thanks to you and others for pointing out that there are some right-leaning examples out there. I've seen some of them, but will check out some of the others.

Yep
Even documentaries such as Ken Burns series on the National Parks is highly slanted in it's presentation, and I am a conservationist myself.

Solution indicates a problem exists. I have yet to hear an explanation outside of envy as to why differences in income is a bad thing. If everyone made the same, what motivation is there to work harder since you cannot earn more for it or you are taxed more as a percentage the more you make? One person making more money does not mean a different person can afford less. I hate this income inequality bullshite with more passion than anything else I have ever encountered.
