It was like Les Miles winning a NC in 2007.

Bear and Saban are the two best college football coaches.

So you think all the NFL teams in 1995 had players like Emmitt, Aikman, Irvin, Deion, Newton, etc?

Not a bama fan but this conversation can not be had without bear Bryant

It was less so in 1995

The Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers were in a league of their own insofar as talent is concerned in 1995. Barry Switzer simply continued what Jimmy Johnson had built for him.

Barry is by far the most entertaining with his story telling. He was a coach that could get talent, put them on the field and let them play - damn the rules. Jimbo Fisher is proving to be that way too.
Barry's off field antics are not what you would want from GOAT, he ruined a lot of families along the way.

No.
He's not even Top 10.
He's not even the #1 coach at Oklahoma. (Bud Wilkinson)

Bryant is the best. And Johnson dominated Switzer at the U.

he won with a LOADED cowboys team that was basically pre-free agency (at least the effects), so no, the playing field was not close to even

And Switzer dominated Johnson at oSu
You do understand OU was not great during the KGB and I years?
In 84 was when they started going again and went back to the Wishbone.

And the decline happened under his watch. I firmly believe Dal would've won 5 in a row with JJ.

Wrong the decline happened under Chan Gailey. Gailey loss to Arizona in playoffs was the official start. Then Campo came in for 3 straight 5-11.

Chuck Fairbanks deserves to be in any top 2-5 OU coaches list. Bud built and fed it. Chuck restored it and was the architect of the 70's versions.
