If all 32 starting NFL QBs were tossing the ball around a practice field, Manning would look like the worst of the bunch. His brain is completely carrying him at this point. It's amazing. People freaked out when Richard Sherman accused Manning of throwing ducks before the Super Bowl, but the guy was just commenting on the film he had watched.

I still think Manning has enough to win a super bowl but there is no denying he has lost a ton of arm strength.
He has always thrown ducks tho, granted not as much as he has been recently.

Ouch
Roto was right when they said it was one of the worst passes you'll ever see

Yeah, if I am the opposing team, I am doing everything I can to take away the easy passes (related to arm strength) and make him prove that he still has the arm to complete the difficult throws.

Reminds me of trying to win a game of Tecmo Bowl with Jack Trudeau at the helm.

That's been Belichecks plan the past 3 years or so while he's been in Denver
Take away their crossing routes and it takes half their offense out the game
It also helps to be I'm freezing cold Foxbourough weather

To answer the OP's question....
I think he retires after NEXT season.
He is STILL a Top 5 QB, but clearly, as he approaches 40, is not the same guy pre-neck surgery. Nobody would be.
He'll be 39 next March. I don't think he needs to go beyond next year. But at this point, he has earned the right to do whatever he wants.

He's still playing well relative to the average NFL QB but nowhere near his standards. He's broken down. Happens to everyone.

He has plenty to go if he wants to play longer.
Most touchdowns in the league. 4400 yards. Still far better than 2/3 of the league. There were a lot of teams with abysmal QB play this year.
To win at the elite level, they probably need a better run game and defense. I think he can still micromanage victories at a high level for several more years with a solid run game and defense.
If they rely solely on his arm, then they won't be elite. His prime is past him but on a bad day like last night, he is still above average.

I agree. I think he'll play one more year.
UNLESS they are beat down again in the playoffs by someone. Then he might retire now. Just a feeling.
ETA: either this year or next year, he needs to make a Ray Lewis announcement on his impending retirement and try to motivate his teammates.

Let me check to see if I said something retarded in here

Not much.
I said Manning was still probly a top 5 QB.
Maybe in the composite regular season. Not anymore, though.
