Except that there is no requirement whatsoever to smoke marijuana. It can be ingested in gels, liquids, and made into everyday foodstuffs like candy bars and suckers. The "it harms your lungs" argument is absolutely pointless. Even more so considering the legality of carcinogen laced cigarettes.

but in terms of intoxication, there isn't an argument. alcohol is basically the worst and that's why it is often brought up. the most fricked up people you will see on a single drug are drunk people. the absolute most fricked up people you will ever see are people who are drinking and taking pain pills or benzos
If Marijuana and Alcohol were used at the same rate, would this be the same.
My guess is that Alcohol use vs Marijuana use is like 100 to 1 or something like that. This is a guess but much more people drink than smoke.

IF I were to smoke the same amount of Marijuana what ever that is, I would be much more negatively effected.
if you mean smoke the amount of weed that it would take to fill 2 glasses, then yes
if you mean that there aren't different levels of marrijuana usage, wherein you can get a little high, then you are wrong

most of the negative effects of smoking marijuana will be on the mental side of things.

no, it wouldn't
your max-level of intoxication via marijuana is much lower than alcohol. that's a better way to put it

that is irrelevant

that's a guess, and until we put marijuana into the right schedule to really test it, then we are mainly guessing

you seem to know much more on this I'm backing out of this.
have a good day.

Great work OP!
You can always tell who the stoners are. They're obsessed with the dank weed.

Weed is illegal for one reason - the beer and liquor lobby.
The pharmaceutical lobby has a bigger influence than the beer and liquor lobby.
But the main reason marijuana was made illegal, and remains illegal, is pure and simple ignorance. The origins of marijuana laws are steeped in racism, and the strongest opponents today to marijuana legalization are ignorant of the uses and effects of marijuana.

Have you met potheads? Insufferable.

Medicinal marijuana is a joke. The pharma industry is not scared of it. It's another one of those third Eye arguments. You can make rope out of it.

We aren't debating legalizing opiates for recreational use. If we were, I would insist on the same type of spot test for them.
The only instant assay that we have is for alcohol because it is the only legal intoxicant available. Because consuming it renders you unsuitable to perform certain tasks, such as driving, it is necessary to have a way to tell if someone is currently drunk and how drunk they are.
I maintain that the same thing needs to be readily available for pot. Until then, I cannot support legalizing it.
I truthfully don't care if a bunch of dipshit twenty somethings want to sit around their apartment and get stoned. For me, this isn't a philosophical argument about freedom and government control. It is a practical matter of needing a simple way to tell if someone is stoned and how stoned they are before pot gets legalized.

that's industrial hemp
there is an argument (that is weak, irrational, and illogical) that marijuana should be illegal

It may be, it may not be. The fact that it remains a Schedule 1 narcotic prevents it from being adequately studied for any medicinal benefits. I've seen firsthand mixed results for medicinal use. I tried it for back pain, and didn't really benefit. A family member going through chemo tried it for nausea and appetite, and raved about it. But that's simply anecdotal and doesn't prove anything. I'd like to see it more heavily researched. The pharmaceutical industry does not want it researched.
