Mississippi State athletic director Scott Stricklin stated quite a while back that they were hopeful to be able to reach an extension with Mullen; but that extension hasn’t been signed yet.
quote:
When I asked sources familiar with Michigan’s search if they would characterize Mullen as a lead candidate, the response was “I don’t know that Hackett felt that way last week; but it certainly seems like he considers him a very viable candidate now.”
quote:
Mullen’s current salary is approximately $3 million under his current deal; it is unknown what Mississippi State’s new offer to Mullen is at this time in the proposed extension. Note that Hugh Freeze just signed an extension bringing his base salary up to $4.3 million for the upcoming season.
quote:
Sources in Michigan reminded me several times that these aren’t the only candidates that Michigan plans in person visits with this week (I was told earlier in the week they planned to meet with 10+ candidates); but they say Hackett seemed most excited / animated with speaking to Mora and Mullen.
Either way, Mullen gonna get paid. Bidding war, perhaps?

When the chips were on the table, dude made some of the worst play calling for continuous series I have seen in quite a while.
Everyone has a bad day at the office. The good ones usually don't have it in repetition.

He's not my first choice, and I may even prefer Miles to him (shocker to you LSU fans).
But as the whole nation has seen, we could definitely do worse.

Mullen has one problem regarding the Michigan opening: his name isn't Harbaugh. He will have to wait with all the other Plan B's until Jim makes his move.

The only 2 coaches with all time winning records at MSU are Darrel Royal and Dan Mullen.

You misspelled Miles in your thread title.

Those last couple years must have destroyed Jackie.

If Michigan offers Mullen he is gone.

Whoever ends up with Mullen is the loser.

Would maybe hurt to do it but Moo State should tell him to hit the bricks.
