Harbaugh's issues in SF don't have anything to do with the players

I do think it's interesting that much of this board despises Les, but there seems to be a circle the wagons mentality now that he could be gone and that somehow Michigan wouldn't deserve him.
I'm not even sure I want Harbaugh because I don't see him in Ann Arbor for more than like four years and I don't know if even he can stabilize things that quickly without a decent QB on the roster. I'm also not a big Les guy, because I think he is Hoke with better experience, but I would rather they have tried to lock things up quickly with him if Harbaugh is that much in doubt. I really would have just opened up the vault for a guy like Mullen, assuming he had any interest.
Oh, and since it was lost in the shuffle over the weekend, my X-mas party gossip from a guy was that he ran into Paul Jokisch the day before (Jokisch supposedly roomed with Harbaugh at Michigan), and Jokisch said they had all these home runs lined up, but that Harbaugh was most likely.

Where are you seeing this?
Michigan absolutely deserves him. Wagons are all parked and I'm waving you in.

Is it not inconceivable that Miles could be hired as AD and Harbaugh HC.
Lloyd Carr's head would explode.

Well, Gruden signed a contract extension with MNF, so he's off the list.

So you agree with me that it wont be for money issues (AKA Michigan will pay him what he wants), and then you say they wont.
Can you make up your mind please?
I was just agreeing it won't be about money.....it will be about not wanting to coach UM and be a College Coach again.

I would still bet my house on Harbaugh coaching the Raiders next year.
Raiders ESPN writer posted this tonight:
quote:
The NFL Network reported this morning there is “mutual interest” between the Raiders and Harbaugh
The Raiders (1-11) have a recent history of ineptitude, but that hasn’t deterred Harbaugh in the past. When he arrived at Stanford, the Cardinal was coming off a 1-11 record and had endured five straight losing seasons. The 49ers hadn’t reached the playoffs for eight straight seasons when Harbaugh was hired in 2011.
Raiders ESPN writer posted this tonight:

So, yes, crank up that Jim Harbaugh talk now. With Gruden off the board, there is no doubt Harbaugh will be the primary target both by the Raiders and in the fanbase.
Frankly, I think Harbaugh is a better fit.

Oakland preparing for sweeping changes that involve its GM Reggie McKenzie, according to league sources. Mark Davis getting ready to spend.
quote:
First, Al Davis gave Harbaugh his first official coaching job (under Callahan in 2002) and Harbaugh has always held Davis in high regard. Second, Harbaugh loves the Bay Area and if he left the 49ers probably would love it even more if he won big right next door to the 49ers.
Harbaugh will want a ready-made situation, and that’s not the Raiders, but they do have Derek Carr, a clean cap situation and a potentially very good draft choice coming up.
