Has anyone talked about Kevin spacey and his accent changing all the time.. Sometimes he sounds like he is from rural Georgia, other times he sounds like he doesn't even live in the south.. It's throwing me off

The hell does it matter? There are a dozen southern accents. Spacey is great, but come on.
Or, just look at the gifs above.

Won't be long and frank's accent will be long gone from focus for him

Never noticed. I thought he did the accent pretty well. Esp since he sounds so different normally. I appreciate an actor who can do accents. It's what drives me nuts about Liam Neeson and Jason Statham.

Spacey's accent definitely threw my off the first time I heard it. I guess I haven't heard the rural Georgia/Carolina accent much, but it definitely sounded almost British to me.
Which makes a good bit of sense if you've read any about the development of the Southern accent.

He has hints of Lyndsey Graham I think

Rural nothing. That has "wealthy Southern aristocrat / Old South" written all over it.
Pretty much my entire extended family is from the same place as Underwood, Gaffney, and most of them have thick Southern accents, but they are the Redneck-stereotypical Southern accents. Except my grandparents who do have that Old South drawl.
(Luckily my parents moved away when I was about 1 years old so I do not have such an accent)

you ever think that maybe some it has to do with the way politicians speak when they are talking to colleagues versus their constituency?

Shut your whore mouth. Frank Underwood can speak in any manner that pleases him.
